Bad breath can have many causes, coming from your food, drink and smoking habits, and can detract from your smile. Mouthwash will help but it isn’t always convenient and sometimes not enough. Dentist advice is that good oral hygiene is essential to ensure your smile is always accompanied by fresh breath.

Key takeaways

– Brush your tongue as well as your teeth to remove all bacteria
– Brush your teeth after every meal, not just twice a day
– Drink plenty of water to help your body tackle the bad smells caused by other drinks and food
If you find your breath is strong no matter what you do, if you find you’re constantly having to use mouth wash which really just camouflages bad odour you may have something else going on than poor hygiene. In that instance it’s really important to see your dentist.
